Quick Update for day 3, 4, 5, & 6

Man, I’m already 4 days behind in update. So I guess the easiest thing to do is highlights

Day 3

  • Jeff and I basically spent the whole day visiting places in Davao city. CheChe and Ate Anabell (one of the SO ladies) was our tour guide; we visited several martkets (streets and indoor), went to Isla Verdes to see Mike and Daniel teach the ladies, and then SM (a gigantic MALL WITH A/C :D) to eat lunch with Ben.
  • Ben then took us to Bucana youth center to meet the youths – we played hacky sack without the hacky or sack… it was a small flat metal object with plushy thin strings attached to it. It hurt like heck hitting it with my bare foot (I had slippers on), I wish I had brought my hackysack that I left at SPTC (the place where we are staying… I think I mention in previous post that it was OMF headquarters, but it’s not).
  • An emergency came up and required Ben to leave Bucana early (he’s usually there when the center is open – 2 to 5pm), so we just went with him since Jeff and I still don’t know how to get around the city. I’m not going to explain the emergency, but I’ll just warn every guy reading this to be careful when zipping up… =P. For the team members, if you can figure out what I’m talking about, it happened to Benton (spelling?).
  • We then met with the rest of the SO ladies and had dinner at “Dimsum Restaurant” before going doing the weekly Weds street walk. For those who don’t know what I’m talking about – we basically walk to several places and hang out for a little bit at each place. The first place we stopped off at was the park where the homeless kids (SO kids) are. They are very friendly and well, some violent…. I got hit in the head 3 times by the same kid! Ouch… Oh yeah, the 3 videos in the last post are some of the SO kids that we got to play with. The next place we walked to was a street where the MIST (men in sex trade) hang out and after that the GIST (gays in sex trade). The street walks usually end pretty late; we didn’t get back to SPTC until 12:30am.
